There are a number of words & terms relating to spiritual development that are often misunderstood. We would like to try and clarify some of these.
Psychic - A person who uses sensitivity outside of the normal senses, also called the 'sixth sense'.
Spiritual Medium - An intermediary through whom communication is held with spirit.
Clairvoyance - The power to see things not present to normal senses.
Clairaudience - The power to hear things not present to normal senses.
Clairsentience - The power to sense/feel above normal senses similar to psychic level, except that spiritual communication usually begins here.
Claircognizance - The power to know things without knowing how or why you know it (like an extra-sensory perception).
Faith Healer - A healer who uses your faith and their healing power to help you.
Spiritual Healer - A person through whom spirit pass healing power. No faith or belief is required to help you.
Counsellor - A person who listens and may advise on physical/material and emotional levels in confidence. There are many professional counsellors, and there are many people who act as counsellors in a range of situations.
Spiritual Counsellor - Similar to a normal counsellor, but they should also be able to give spiritual guidance and accurate information from spirit.
Shaman - A person who can supposedly move between the spiritual and physical worlds and have an influence over events, past and present. When people have become spiritual mediums they should appreciate that this is the first level of their progression, not the highest. It is interesting to consider the reasons why many spiritual mediums end up as psychics.
Ying-yang - This symbol (shown at the top of the web page) is a universal symbol of balance. The two elements in the symbol are equal, but the dividing line is not direct. Within each of the largest parts of each half, exists a small element of the opposite part.
