The Way Spiritual Progression/Development

Spititual Circle Introduction

Simply put, a spiritual circle is a group of people who get together for a common purpose, in this case spiritual progression, meditation or just to achieve some much needed relaxation.

The fact that you are reading this website means that you probably have a number of unanswered questions in your life.

Many people reach a point in their life where they question their physical existence and start to look for a more spiritual level. You may have reached this point in a number of ways:

  • You may find yourself asking "is there more to life than this?"
  • You may have become a little lost along the way in your life and started to wonder "what's the point?"
  • You may have had a spiritual encounter of one kind or another.
  • You may have been speaking to someone who feels that they have found "the way" already.
Before embarking on a spiritual path one really ought to consider the following:

Whose way should I follow?

Which way, or which path, should I follow?

Why this way (and not some other way)?

We will try to answer some of the questions. In answering these questions you will see that we often refer to "we". This is referring to the teachers of The Way, but also to spirit.

Regarding "whose way?" we will guide you to feel your way, as you should only ever walk your own path.

As far as “which way?” we always point to the way of truth, balance and love: the right way.

Most importantly, for the question of "why this way?” we would say that the spiritual way is the next level of progress. If you are ready, it should feel right in your heart and mind.

You should be aware that a lot of people speak and behave as if they are spiritual, but do they allow you to get close enough to find out? If you use your feelings, (your spiritual feelings, not emotional feelings) sometimes you will feel and see a different picture to the one they have painted of themselves for public viewing.

Learning to use your feelings can be confusing at first, which is why it is important that you find a teacher who can guide you; with truth, balance and love. When these three qualities become more natural parts of your life, you will be able to work with your teacher/guide and learn to trust the accuracy of your feelings.

To give an example, if you were to shine white light through a coloured lens then the light you get out the other side will no longer be white light; it will have been altered by the lens. Spirit is the light, and you are the lens. Truth and balance are required to keep the lens clear.

It is expected in The Way Circle that you will ask your questions - and you should have many. It is recommended that you carry a notebook with you so that you are able to write your questions down as and when they occur to you.

Our view is usually that the only "stupid question" is the one you didn't ask. Your questions will show you where your level of understanding is. Within a circle it is common for students to answer each other’s questions (where they are able to), and where the students in the circle cannot answer your questions then the teachers will.

If you find you have a problem or an issue that you feel is too personal for you to discuss in the circle, then your teachers will be able to help. You will be able to contact your teacher outside of the circle if necessary.
If at any time during the circle, you honestly feel it’s of no benefit to you, speak to your teacher. However, you need to be as truthful with us as we will be with you.

Curriculum

In a spiritual circle at The Way we appreciate that levels of knowledge will differ from person to person, however we are all equal and will be treated as equals by spirit. We will aim to teach you the following:

  • To start relaxing for the purpose of meditation, or just for simple relaxation.
  • How to express your feelings and views, and how to accept the feelings and views of others (both within our circle as well as in your lives.)
  • To ask questions when you don't want to, and to get answers that you may not like.
  • How to close yourself spiritually for protection against negativity. How to open yourself up spiritually for your own guidance, balance and peace of mind.
  • How to apply truth and balance, so you can find your own way spiritually.
  • To learn to separate your emotions (fear, like, dislike etc) from your spiritual feelings.
We believe that if you are able and willing to do additional work, then you may progress from spiritual circles towards developing abilities of spiritual mediumship and/or spiritual healing, but most importantly self-guidance.
